The active substance of Azithromycin monohydrate (Zenith®) 200 mg / 5 mL powder for oral suspension is Azithromycin monohydrate equivalent to 200 mg azithromycin per 5 mL.
Indication
Azithromycin monohydrate (Zenith®) can be applied in situations where micro-organisms sensitive to azithromycin have caused:
- upper respiratory tract infections: sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, (see special warnings and special precautions for use*)
- acute otitis media
- lower respiratory tract infections: acute bronchitis and mild to moderately severe community acquired pneumonia
- skin and soft tissue infections
- uncomplicated Chlamydia trachomatis urethritis and cervicitis (see section on warnings and special precautions for use*)
* Considerations should be given to official guidance on the appropriate use of antibacterial agents.
